How can I help my child? |
What is Read OnRead On is a group of concerned parents and educators whose mission is to raise awareness about dyslexia, identify at–risk students at an early age, and implement research-based learning strategies to enable students to achieve their full academic potential. "We now know that dyslexia affects one out of every five children- ten million in America alone. In every neighborhood and in every classroom worldwide there are children struggling to read. For many affected children dyslexia has extinguished the joys of childhood." Sally Shaywitz, M.D. Co-director of the Yale Center for the Study of Learning and Attention, Overcoming Dyslexia Researchers now know how kids with dyslexia can learn. In fact, research has demonstrated that, with proper tutoring, kids can essentially free themselves from a crippling learning disability. Millions of children are struggling and failing in reading and related subjects when they could be thriving. It is time to do more for our kids. Read On Vision statementOur ultimate goal is for every child to realize his or her full potential in reading. SHARING OUR STORY Download Read On's Brochure Presentation for OSPI SOAR
